Sergio Aguero, a former forward for Manchester City, has once again downplayed the calibre of Cristiano Ronaldo’s goals for Real Madrid. Ronaldo set the Los Blancos record for goals scored with 450 in 438 games.
The 38-year-old was the driving force behind the Spanish powerhouses’ victories in the UEFA Champions League, La Liga, and other competitions.
Aguero rates Ronaldo’s goals low
Ronaldo scored some incredible goals throughout his nine-year spell at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium, including long-range shots, bicycle kicks, solo runs, counterattacking goals, and more.
However, upon watching a collection of some of Ronaldo’s best goals on Spanish streaming juggernaut Ibai Llanos’ Twitch channel, renowned Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero appeared disappointed. The Argentine even asserted that two Real Madrid legends scored superior goals for the 14-time champions of Europe. According to Aguero via The Madrid Zone, “Raul [Gonzalez] and [Karim] Benzema have scored better goals for Madrid than Cristiano Ronaldo.”
For the team, Ronaldo scored numerous incredible goals, including solo runs, counterattacking goals, long range shots, and more.
The 38-year-old captain of Portugal, who has won every major football championship outside the World Cup, even scored an overhead kick during a Champions League match against Juventus.
However, Aguero, who retired after being forced to leave Manchester City for Barcelona two seasons ago due to health problems, thought Karim Benzema and Raul’s goals for Real Madrid were superior.
According to The Madrid Zone, he said that Raul and Benzema had scored more goals for Madrid than Cristiano Ronaldo had.
