Dana White shoots down reports of Henry Cejudo’s UFC comeback — ‘He’s retired’
Reports of Henry Cejudo’s UFC Comeback: Henry Cejudo, the former UFC bantamweight champion who also won gold at 125 pounds, withdrew from mixed martial arts (MMA) in May 2020, telling the combat sports community that he “retired on top.”
However, in the two years since retiring from cage fighting, “Triple C” has kept himself in the spotlight by teasing a possible comeback against a number of prominent fighters, including former lightweight champion Conor McGregor.
Is Dana White, the President of the Ultimate Fighting Championship, interested?
Reports of Henry Cejudo’s UFC Comeback:
White told TMZ Sports, “No, Cejudo is retiring.” “Did you know Cejudo is retired?” Cejudo knows exactly what he needs to do to re-enter and get everything he wants. I mean, yelling nonsense on Instagram isn’t going to get you into fights.”
This “Notorious” crap talker may be exempt from that regulation.
Cejudo (16-2) turned 35 in February and has been helping to coach current UFC fighters, including former strawweight champion Zhang Weili, with his combat sports experience. “Triple C” is also interested in helping Jorge Masvidal restart his career.
Cejudo will have to re-enter the United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) testing pool, which demands a minimum of six months of clean test results before a fighter may enter the Octagon.
It remains to be seen whether or not this occurs (or occurred).
