Carlo Ancelotti
All over the pitch, Real Madrid needs to bolster its roster. Certainly a right-back fits under that group. A big source of worry has been Dani Carvajal’s form. The Spaniard may have been a pillar for Los Blancos for many years, but recently, his play has deteriorated, and he is no longer the player he once was.
Club, however, does not actually have any backup at that position. Alvaro Odriozola has not had many appearances and is likely to go shortly. Although Lucas Vazquez is older than Carvajal, he is not a natural right-back. And even though Nacho is 33, he might be Carlo Ancelotti’s best option right now in that part of the pitch.
Real Madrid therefore needs a new right-back alternative as soon as possible. And it appears that they are interested in an Argentine World Cup champion.
According to SPORT, Real Madrid has inquired about Juan Foyth’s surroundings. But, Villarreal will not engage in negotiations and will instead cite his €54 million release clause.
Real Madrid interested in €54 million-rated defender
Foyth was acquired by Villarreal from Tottenham Hotspur only a few years ago for a transfer cost of approximately €15 million. It’s safe to say that since then, his transfer fee has increased.
Foyth has excelled for Villarreal in addition to helping Argentina win the World Cup last year. In addition to Real Madrid, Barcelona is reportedly interested in signing him.
Of course, paying €54 million in transfer fees for a right-back would be expensive. Yet unlike in the past, Real Madrid has not recently made extravagant purchases. Thus it seems doubtful that they would try to sign Foyth by looking to trigger his release clause.
