
Foreign players’ bats, kits stolen during IPL 2023
Bats made up the majority of the stolen goods, with David Warner, Phil Salt, and Mitchell Marsh each losing three bats.
The Indian Express reported that a shocking break-in occurred during the present Indian Premier League (IPL) resulted in the loss of bats, pads, and other equipment from the players’ kit bags belonging to Delhi Capitals.
Details indicate that the things were found to have vanished during the Capitals team’s trip from Bengaluru to New Delhi, and the players were told about this after receiving their kit bags at their lodgings.
Bats made up the majority of the stolen goods; David Warner, Phil Salt, and Mitchell Marsh each lost three bats. Five bats were taken, and one of the victims was an Indian player named Yash Dhull.
The report went on to say that a complaint had been made about the occurrence. Several athletes complained that their shoes, gloves, and other belongings had been stolen in addition to their bats.
“When they learned that everyone had misplaced something from their kit bags, they were all surprised. This is the first time that such an occurrence has occurred, and the issue was quickly brought up with the police, the logistics department, and ultimately at the airport. “The investigation is ongoing,” a source in DC stated.
According to media accounts, nearly every player has misplaced a bat, with batter Yash Dhull losing at least five. Each of the bats that the foreign players misplaced cost Rs 1 lakh.
Notably, Delhi Capitals is in last place in the IPL 2023 points standings. They have so far lost each of their five games.
At the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on April 15, the Delhi Capitals fell to Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in their previous game.
The team’s following game will take place on Thursday at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi versus Kolkata Knight Riders.
