Antony Sends a Message to Man Utd team-mates after watching A Match Of Man United
Antony Sends a Message to Man Utd team-mates: On deadline day, Brazilian international Antony transferred from Ajax to Manchester United for £85 million, but he was unable to play for his new team on Thursday night.
As Thursday night’s Premier League match versus Leicester got begun, Antony wished his new Manchester United teammates well.
The 22-year-old international from Brazil signed a long-term contract on deadline day to complete his £85 million transfer from Ajax to United. He missed Thursday night’s game at the King Power Stadium because he hadn’t registered in time to play.
When Jadon Sancho scored in the first half to give United a 1-0 victory, Antony would have been satisfied with what he watched on television. After wins over rivals Liverpool and Southampton, Erik ten Hag’s team has now won three straight Premier League games.
Antony tweeted a photo of his TV screen with the comment, “Let’s go @ManUtd,” to convey his enthusiasm for his new coworkers.

Following his expensive move to Old Trafford, Antony is under a lot of pressure. The Brazilian moved to Ajax from Sao Paulo in July 2020, and he played in the Eredivisie for a while, tallying 18 goals and 14 assists before getting the chance to play in the Premier League.
Ten Hag, who moved from Ajax to United in May, was mostly responsible for those goals. Under the Dutchman, Antony experienced notable success, winning the KNVB Cup and two Eredivisie championships. He made his debut for Brazil as well, earning nine senior caps thus far.
When he was introduced, Antony told United’s website, “This is a great moment in my career to be joining one of the most historic clubs in the world. “I’m grateful to everyone who supported me, especially my family, as well as to all of my coaches and team members, without whom I would not have succeeded.
“Erik ten Hag’s coaching at Ajax was ideal for me and my development. I play and coach better when he is around, and I am inspired by what he has shared with me about his goals and intentions for Manchester.
“My time at Ajax was amazing, and I will always be grateful for the trust they placed in me. However, now that I am ready for the next challenge, I can’t wait to join my new team and contribute to the success of Manchester United,” he said.
“Antony is one of the most exciting young players in European football and has exactly the perfect profile for the attacking, dynamic team Erik is constructing,” continued United’s football director John Murtough.
His eagerness to join Manchester United and be a part of a long-term project to return the team to the performance levels we all anticipate has really impressed us.
Following the victory on Thursday night, Ten Hag was questioned about Antony’s arrival “Naturally, I’m quite excited. He is a great signing. He brings the attitude, the creativity, and the battling spirit, so I’m confident of that. We have a lot of games to cover, therefore we need quality in large numbers on offence.”
