Antony Reveals: Antony has been officially acquired by Man Utd from Ajax, and he might make his debut this weekend against Arsenal.
In order to decide whether to join Manchester United during the summer transfer window, Antony has disclosed that he spoke with Fred, Casemiro, and Lisandro Martinez.
On the day before the transfer deadline, United formally completed the acquisition of Brazilian forward Antony from Ajax. The forward initially agreed to a five-year deal with an additional year’s option.
As the second-most expensive acquisition in the club’s history, Antony will need the help of several close pals to swiftly adjust to life in England.
After signing, he told club reporters, “I’m incredibly thrilled to meet the Brazilians here. “I’m overjoyed to see them (from the national team) again. We are all united here right now. I’m hoping they can teach me a lot. We had a conversation about the club, Fred. At Manchester United, I want to go down in history with them and progress alongside my two Brazilian teammates.
“I’m incredibly delighted that Casemiro and I both come from the same place—the Sao Paulo youth system—and that we get to play together at this fantastic club today. We intend to leave our mark on the club’s history, as we have expressed in messages to one another.
At Old Trafford this season, Antony will catch up with his international teammates as well as ex-Ajax coach Erik ten Hag and defender Lisandro Martinez.
He is particularly close to fellow South American Martinez, with whom he also discussed what to anticipate in the Premier League.
We worked at Ajax for two years, Antony continued. We grew to be pretty good friends. I have a great deal of respect for him and his family, whom I also got to know. I’m happy that we can finally work together to make history.
He sent me messages yesterday and today. He’s a fantastic friend I’ve met through football. We’re back together now, and we talked about doing big things together in this place.
