Frenkie de Jong Reveals: The star of the Nou Camp has bluntly addressed the latest transfer rumours around a move to Manchester United.
Frenkie de Jong, a midfielder for Barcelona, claims he has no ambitions to switch to Manchester United in the summer.
The 25-year-wage old’s disputes with his club proved to be too great a hurdle to overcome, and the Reds ultimately agreed to a deal in principle worth around £62 million for the player in July. As a result, United ultimately paid Real Madrid an initial £60 million for Casemiro.
According to The Kickflick Sports, Erik ten Hag is still open to signing De Jong this summer. Nevertheless, the Reds manager is also interested in signing a new striker and a midfielder for the upcoming window, which has been designated as the time for the next recruitment drive.
“[Last summer] I was in good shape and composed because I was sure I wanted to stay at Barça, and I still do. I have to keep working to get better at [Xavi] since there is always opportunity for improvement. I get a lot of help from Xavi, and I’ve had help from all the coaches.”
De Jong has contributed to Barca’s ascent to the top of LaLiga with two goals and one assist. De Jong is eager to win LaLiga for the first time since he joined from Ajax, and they are attempting to win their first championship in four years.
I’ve never won the League, but this is the closest I’ve ever come in my fourth year here. Still, I have a long way to go. My main objective this year is to win the title, so I’m extremely enthusiastic about that,” he continued.
Frenkie de Jong Reveals:
“We have an advantage in the League and Copa del Rey, as well as a very excellent team and squad, therefore we are aiming for all potential trophies. Let’s attempt both. There are extremely talented teams, like Madrid and Atlético, so if we win the three crowns in Spain, it will be an unbelievable season.
