Eric Cantona Criticised Ronaldo Regarding His Retirement
Eric Cantona Criticised: Thirty years after joining Man United, Eric Cantona is still in a reflective frame of mind. With Samuel Luckhurst, he talks about Ronaldo, United, dictators, death, and politics.
He is bespectacled, bearded, and wearing triple denim. The ‘He’ might as well be capitalised for Manchester United followers.
Once, Eric Cantona said, “Not a man am I. It’s me, Cantona.” He nonchalantly nods in agreement when it is pointed out that he is a “God” to United followers.
“Yeah.”
What a friend we have in Jesus, he is our saviour from afar, what a friend we have in Jesus, and his name is Cantona, the Manchester United fans continue to shout. Few players in the history of the team have received as much devotion as the catalyst Cantona, who would also become king. Cantona has plenty of followers.
Cantona is surrounded by perplexing paintings by Manchester-born artist Michael Browne at the National Football Museum in that city. A still-living philosopher is Cantona. Soccer players, athletes, politicians, and autocrats are depicted in striking portraits in the exhibition From Moss Side to Marseille.
When Cantona advises that we “go somewhere quieter,” our interview has not yet begun. In order to make a more stealthy location between two paintings, we pick up our seats and move them there.
The one Cantona is confronting, Theatre of Nightmares, shows Presidents Xi Jinping, Trump, and Putin opening an eyelid. This leads to Cantona’s introductory remarks.
He murmurs, “I think it’s a vital display in this chaotic time. “The world seems to be getting crazier and crazier every day. throughout the entire world.
“Thus, it’s a chance to talk about sport, but also about religion, racism, dictatorship, oppression, and a whole host of other topics. both for the next generation and for our generation. It’s significant because the only chance you have is in the younger generations, and I have faith in and confidence in them.”
“Yes, social media and other things can be challenging in some ways, but if you utilise them wisely, they can be helpful. Today, it is our obligation to convey to them what we believe to be a positive message and to try to aid in the development of their thoughts and worldviews. I believe that these paintings may do just that.”
This exchange is not typical, as one might anticipate. Cantona speaks while thinking slowly. It would be viewed as pretentiousness if it were anyone else. This is how Cantona operates; he continues to be the trawlerman that seagulls choose.
Since his final months with United in 1997, Cantona has not been moved by football. Even on the day of their coronation, when they won their fourth championship in five years, his body language was hauntingly indifferent. But instead of immediately discussing United’s performance or the derby on Saturday, Cantona launches into an awkward rant about Henry Kissinger’s backing of General Pinochet and Operation Condor, a clandestine effort to silencing political opponents.
When the subject of football is brought up, Cantona dismissively remarks, “This exhibition speaks about more important topics. “Of course, winning the league is essential, but our perspective on the globe allows us to discuss dictatorship and democracy. What does dictature mean? Describe democracy. Why are we to dictate how a nation with a century of history should exist?
“Democracies will occasionally visit other nations and impose their way of life. They go and say you have to live like this in dictatorship battles, which is similar to Pinochet.
Eric Cantona Criticised:
“That was the Condor operation under the direction of the Americans, Kissinger, much like the painting by Carlos Caszely. Kissinger gave a lecture promoting human rights in the United States while simultaneously endorsing Pinochet and other South American dictators.”
One becomes so involved that I find myself sharing my own limited understanding of American history and Kissinger’s advice to Richard Nixon.
As a result, we’ve irritated autocrats like Pinochet, Kissinger, Nixon, and the Condor operation. How does United fare? Ferguson? Ronaldo? Under another Erik, with a “k,” United are moving in the right direction.
When Cantona first arrived at the club, Alex Ferguson was the manager. When I joined the team, United, we were on the verge of winning the league; we did when I played for Leeds. The club was very powerful when Alex Ferguson spent a few years there and had time to bring several items.
Eric Cantona Criticised:
“At this point, I predict that it will be a while before Manchester United wins it again. Hopefully not. Nevertheless, I don’t think United’s foundation today is strong enough to win every game, and I believe the finest players in the world wanted to join United during Alex Ferguson’s era. You must think differently since the situation has changed.
On his 31st birthday, Cantona announced his retirement. Cristiano Ronaldo, who will turn 38 in February, has been fighting the death of a flickering light by accepting the single offer from Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr.
Ronaldo’s professional athletic career is essentially ended. Cantona thinks Ronaldo is lying to himself. “When he returned, United wasn’t the United he left, and occasionally he seems unaware of how things have changed. So perhaps he was taken aback by how much had changed.
By the end of their careers, I believe there are two different types of players. The fact that I chose to retire young is something else. Then there is the person who wishes to continue playing well into their forties. There are two types of players: those who still believe they are 25 years old and want to play every game; and those who realise they are not 25 years old and are here to assist the younger players. They are aware that they won’t play every game, but they will play some of them.
But, they must assist the younger players. Like Ryan Giggs, (Paolo) Maldini, (Zlatan) Ibrahimovic, and (Zlatan) Ibrahimovic still do with Milan. Yet, I believe Ronaldo wasn’t aware—and still isn’t aware—that he isn’t 25 years old. He’s just older and he should have recognised that instead of being not happy to play some games, say, ‘right, I am not 25 years old, I cannot play every game, but I will support the young guys and accept that scenario and that’s my situation’.
Eric Cantona Criticised:
“People who accept their ageing exist everywhere in the world, just like everything else. You must concede it. Every action we take. not only in soccer. throughout the board.
“I have to realise that I cannot run as quickly as I did when I was 30 years old. I have to admit I’ll pass away eventually. Although it’s difficult, we must accept it. A career ending is comparable to passing away. There is a slight death. You must begin something else. And before you pass away, you must acknowledge that you are growing older. The actions you take are not possible.
“You may sing and act until you’re 80 years old, but football players and athletes know that it gets physically harder every day after the age of 30 or 33. Either you retire or you declare that you will assist the younger generation if you can’t accept that.
“What say you? It is similar to a transmission. He makes a passing gesture. “Like when you give the gadget four times 100 metres?”
Transferring the baton?
“You realise that? You must acknowledge that.
The king is still alive. King is still alive.
